I've gathered a few bits that don't necessarily constitute a full post of their own, so I'll stick them together in one here. First, this little parcel I received today! Interesting looking packaging... You can tell who's in there already! These are 1/20 hand-painted resin customs from PCC Studio in China. I imported these myself rather than going through a middle-man, which is a first for me for custom resin pieces. Since it's drastically cheaper doing it this way, I ordered 5, just in case any faced damage during shipping. I've had some bad luck with damage to resin figures in the past. Luckily they all arrived safe and sound. It's cool to see the variance in hand-painted items like this! I'm really fond of the one in the middle who is giving the most scathing side-eye!! Other than these guys, I received this giant sleeping Eevee for Christmas from my mother: I had mentioned wanting the new sleeping Rockruff, and I think she might have confused the two - not that I mind whatsoever, it's such a sweet present! She's too big to even fit in the lightbox to show you properly. I'm quite particular about the Eevee items that I grab - I have quite a specific taste in Eevee, as with Vulpix and Entei - but she fits into all my preferences. Here she is with the others (she can still barely fit): Lastly, a friend of mine asked me to source a Sneasler plush as a Christmas gift for someone, and the only place I could find one still in stock was the Korean Pokemon Centre. Since we were ordering from there anyway, I couldn't resist picking up something I've had my eyes on for a very, very long time... This beautiful 3rd Round Entei! As I mentioned, this is another collection Pokemon that I'm quite particular about. The colours and shapes really have to look perfect to my brain for something to be worth grabbing. For a long time I've seen this 3rd Round plush in other Entei collectors' collections and it has stuck out to me as a perfect Entei. I'm really, really glad to have this guy!
That's all for this ecclectic little mixture. Until next time!

A nice box arrived in the post, with a preo-order from April. Let's see what we've got :) ![]() Overview! I found this Chatot retsudan stamps - there's so little documentation of these that I have no idea how many are out there, but even this year I've discovered two Chatot ones I never knew existed, so there could always be more. This one is the only foil one in the little set I bought, I've no idea why, but I love it! Manaphy movie Pokecen sticker sheet. I've been waiting for this to pop up at a decent price for a while (I'm not keen on spending £50+ on a sticker sheet...) and, as so often happens, after waiting two went up for sale cheaply in a very short space of time. For the amount I was paying (~£1) I figured I may as well grab them both, just in case I ever want to use any. A close up of the Chatot on this sheet. It looks so cute!! Manaphy movie settei collection. If you've been following the blog for a while, you'll know that I did already pick up a set of these with Chatot in previously, but again, when I saw it go up for sale I just couldn't resist grabbing it. I have the first in my Chatot flats folder, but I'd like to frame this one and put it in my Chatot shelf. Here's the pre-order from April, that just released in August... Guess who! It's the Raikou, Entei, Suicune Bandai scale world set! ![]() I can finally confirm that these beasts are in fact cats, with that info coming from my very reliable helper. The reason I bought them, naturally, was for Entei. I didn't want to take it out yet as I don't have my Entei shelf all set up, but even in the plastic, it still looks REALLY cool.
That's all for now! I got a couple of little Rockruffs and birds that have been on my list for a while! We'll do the most interesting piece first, for once. Chatot movie pen!! The paper insert is really grimy, so please forgive that in the photos. I've been searching for this pen for a while, and I'm really happy to own it, not in small part because the chatot charm is ADORABLE. Kids figures. Rockruff sleeping has been my icon on another website for ages, so I was so over the moon when I saw it was getting a sleeping kids. The little garden wall re-ment figure. The set looks really cute together, but this one admittedly looks a bit odd on its own. The Rockruff mould itself is adorable, though! There was a Tomy Get collection released at the end of last year with both a Wattrel and a Rockruff, too. I've been really spoilt with the releases lately, I thought Rockruff merch would not be as frequent after S&M ended, and while it has slowed down there's still a pretty regular few bits which makes me very happy!! And lastly, finally, the Corviknight re-ment terrarium. I bought two from this gacha set and got Raboot and Cramorant before telling myself "no more randoms, just buy the set" and... I didn't. Until now! Better late than never. :) It's nice to get a Corviknight piece this year, anyway, seeing as he's not getting as much love now we're into gen 9.
That's all for now! (Received 11/04/2023, opened 26/05/2023, posted 16/07/2023) Working through my parcel backlog. I really love to get parcels and save them for a rainy day.. and then keep saving them... but I'm finally working through these! Today we've got a couple of bigs ones. Inside the boxes is a lot of bubble wrap! One of those big swathes held these two! Two plush in a cheap lot. I've considered collecting both of these guys and I really love this Banpresto Nickit plush, so this was mostly an impulse purchase. Inside these little cardboard boxes are sets of stickers called "ポケモンバトルピースコレクション" or "Pokemon Battle Piece Collection". As I understand it these are little sets of stickers that come from a gacha machine. These chatots are a bit warped, but nothing that some flattening won't fix. This tiny guy is a repainted Scale World Starly. Unfortunately I've lost the listing to give credit to the artist! :( But he's repainted to look shiny! I missed a repaint by a professional artist called kikuryo626, but this one popped up by a self-proclaimed amateur, and I couldn't resist grabbing him. A little box...! Google translates claims this says "thank you very much. If you have another chance Thank you for your support." Another repainted Scale World figure, this time it's Pidgey. The artist behind this one is by the aforementioned artist, kikuryo626. A couple of game handbooks! These are the usual for me - they showed up cheap, and in really good condition. Colosseum is my favourite Pokemon game of all, so I really wanted it. Fun little tidbit, I impulse bought them at night and my phone was on black & white mode, and I didn't see them again until they arrived. The colour of the Colosseum guide was a shock to say the least! The Colosseum one even came with its obi - you should know by now that that's very exciting for me!! That was parcel #1 done, so now onto #2! ![]() Another little box with a thank you note - you can guess what that means! kikuryo626 painted another Starly! Despite having one from the other artist, I really wanted this one too, so I just went for it. They're both really lovely, but you can tell an airbrush was used on this one; the paint job is super smooth.
I posted about this situation on my socials and not here, but I recently missed out on a huge grail item due to my internet dropping out when trying to place a last second bid. It was quite genuinely upsetting as I'd only ever seen one other of this figure up for sale. ![]() Funnily enough, as life tends to go, just shortly another popped up in a lot... I sent the seller a message about splitting, and... BOUGHT IT!!! The 7/11 Manaphy Movie Chatot figure, one of the holiest grails I had, now in my collection! The mould on the Chatot itself is lovely, and the detailing and clear plastic for the water are all beautiful. I genuinely couldn't be happier to have this piece in my collection. I'm very quickly coming to the close of known Chatot items I still need... I thought for sure this would be the last one, but here it is!
That's all for now! (Received 15/05/2023, opened 22/05/2023, posted 16/07/2023) A small but excited parcel today! This official pin has eluded me for years - there was one lot including one that was very expensive and up for a long time. My friends and I considered buying it to split more than once, but any way it happened would have been quite expensive for just a pin. This one popped up and went completely under my radar - the seller didn't list either Pokemon's names in the listing, and I would have completely missed it if another friend didn't let me know about it! Very happy to have this in my collection. The epoxy coating has yellowed in its fifteen years of existence, but I strongly doubt it's possible to find one without that any more. Having one sealed was always the ultimate goal for me, and here it is!
Until next time! (Received 17/04/2023, opened 12/05/2023, posted 16/07/2023) I've got a couple of parcels saved up for an opening, so let's do that! Inside the parcels... are smaller parcels! Inside the cardboard box are a few small things. First up are a couple of Tomy Shaymin figures. These were just extras as part of a lot with a couple of flats which we'll see later. This is a set of Banpresto pair keychains. If you've been a follower for a while, you might remember that the Chatot/Beedrill keychain was one of the last few things I needed for a matter of years, but I managed to get one not that long ago. As is always the way, a lot cropped up not long after and at a very reasonable price for the entire set, sealed... and most importantly to me, including the leaflet that came with them. I asked the seller if they'd send the leaflet if I bought the lot, and they said sure - so here we are! I'm never opposed to getting a sealed copy of something even if I already own it, so this was a win-win for me. Next up are some sealed Tomy movie keychains. Essentially the same applies to the above as to why I grabbed these - they were cheap, and they came with the leaflet. As an unfortunate soul afflicted with a desire for even leaflet completion, I picked them up! This next piece is something that, while cool to own, I'm actually not sure if I'm going to keep yet. This is the shiny Hasbro Tyrogue figure. Back in the early days of my collection, one of my desires was to own all of the shiny figures out in the world. Unfortunately here in the year 2023, I have very little room to myself and very little money to spend on weird little hobbies and collections. I picked this guy up on a whim because he was exceedingly cheap, in part due to the damage, but now I'm not really sure if I'll be keeping him around or sending him out with the rest of the shinies I'd accumulated. It's something that makes me very sad - all these items are ones I have a deep love for and it deeply stresses me out to think that they're the kind of rare that means I might not ever own them again. But being a young adult going out into the world is a lot harder with boxes and boxes of baggage. This Tyrogue is kind of a weird encapsulation of that; I've just received him and now I have to decide if I get to keep him. Well, anyway. One collection I know I'll be keeping for the foreseeable future is my Chatot collection, so I have no qualms picking thi sup. This is an Advanced Generation manga, from my understanding in essence the same as the plot of the Prince of the Sea movie, complete with its original obi! Picked up for obvious reasons - the traditional illustration of Chatot on the back is adorable. In all honesty I'm not 100% sure what these are - as far as I can make out, I think they're some kind of noodle flavouring variety packs that come with a coaster? Though I've no idea why they're so long. One for my weird food collection lol. Last but certainly not least, these are a bunch of flats! Most of these I don't have exact details on at the moment, so I'm going to have to go through and research them when I scan them for my pages. The one in the very back is a Mcdonald's placemat of some description. I really love all the glittery stickers. :)
That's all for now! In addition to official merch, I really like to grab fanmade merch of my collections where I can! There isn't loads of Chatot stuff out there, but I've got a couple of pieces recently. (Received 31/03/2023, opened 04/05/2023, posted in the great catchup of May 2023) These are some wool crochet plushes by ShayminsCrochet! Here are their links: Facebook and Twitter I saw these on shopee and got really excited! As I mentioned, not a huge amount of people are making Chatot art or merch, so it became my mission to get ahold of these. Thankfully the artist was really helpful and happy to ship directly to me in the UK, so I didn't have to worry about middleman fees or anything. The plush themselves are SO soft and fuzzy, especially the nest. The egg and Chatots are super squishy and wonderfully round. I'm absolutely in love with them :) (Received 10/03/2023, opened 05/05/2023, posted in the great catchup of May 2023) This little baby is a holographic charm by artist chai_bean! There are three really prominent Chatot collectors in the community including myself, and this charm was commissioned by another one of us, kosmotiel :)
(Received 05/01/2023, opened 07/04/2023, posted in the great catchup of May 2023) I managed to grab a really interesting piece for the collection recently! I didn't know this existed until a friend sent it to me, and the listing was up for only a couple of hundred yen, so I submitted a bid and won it. The shipping was admittedly a far higher cost. The listing had three chairs in it, one sun bleached and two in better condition. One was sent straight to the friend for their Buizel collection. I don't have much other information about this chair - I'll be having a look to see if I can find anything out about it! Opening them up! You can tell one is sunbleached, but it isn't as bad as I'd thought. Such a beautiful colour! You can see the all-important Chatot silhouette on the printed seat. (And my cat's tail!) Here's the sunbleached chair. There is some cracking on the seat and some scuffs or dirt on the back cushion. One neat thing though is the instructional sticker on the back that's missing from my version.
All in all a very cool item that I'm grateful I had pointed out to me! I got a parcel today! I'm calling it little because of the amount of gets, rather than size, haha. What could be inside...? First up is this movie keychain set! I've been waiting for one of these to pop up forever, and I by chance checked the movie name search on a sales website I don't check very frequently. There it was, just sitting there! I grabbed it straight away. The cardboard has some bends and creases, and Manaphy has some bad yellowing. Thankfully, Chatot itself is in very good condition. If these weren't so rare now I would look for one to open to put on my keychain, it's very nice! The second item is very exciting! This is the Staraptor (and Grotle and Barry) scale world figure! Staraptor is as lovely as I'd hoped. The other two are so nice I'm almost tempted to keep those, too..! I really love this figure. It's matte and very heavy. The eyes, head and feet are much larger on this figure as compared to the KING Studio Staraptor figure. This makes the proportions quite different, but I don't mind! I enjoy both interpretations. I'll do a full comparison post once I have the Starly Bandai Scale World in hand.
Until next time! |
